Does anyone from Canada or Europe know if you can just buy them "lets say over the counter". Anybody ever been to an oxygen bar? Reminds me of an old amino acid we used to buy in a good health food store. L-Tryptophan. We "users" of it knew for 20 years it was a great anti depressant and general "happy" vitamin.....But as soon as prosac and the rest of the new antidepressants were ready to hit the market, TRYPToPHAN was removed from its over the counter status. OH....It does the same thind as prosac and the rest, buts is much safer. One must conclude that the BIG PHARMACY BOYS have a lot to say about what otc and whats not.....
feeling stronger everyday...."Chicago"

Thats correct, The CPAPs say prescrption required in the USA or something along that line printed on the bottom...But it is still cheaper to buy them here.. Because we don't have national health.....

The FDA boys go to work for the drug companies when they leave FDA. Thats their payoff for approving the drugs.. FDA keeps their people from testifing against drugs ..under penalty of dismissel...We don't stand a chance....Just look a the Vioxx scandle....We're Doomed.........

CPAP's will most likely always be "perscription" only. While they are great for therapy of OSA sufferers, a CPAP system that is set incorrectly can cause problems.

This is why sleep studys with titration are needed, so that the correct pressure is provided.

At best, I would see Auto-CPAPs as the only devices that may someday more widely available without a prior sleep study, as they auto-titrate and self select the best pressure for that specific patient.

Sorry Airhead, even in Canada you need a prescription.
